I ordered some new goodies for Inspiration. First was the Raymarine ST60+ Wind System with the short vane and the second was a Garmin 492. The Garmin chartplotter just had a big price reduction since the new 2007 3D models will be introduced in the not too distant future. I purchased both from ultimatepassage.com. The Garmin was $567 and the ST60+WS was $771. Shipping 2nd day was $14.95 for both and no tax. In the past I have found both Bruce and Lisa excellent people to deal with and they are highly responsive. Bruce told me that next year they will have to start taxing people based on where they live. That will kill a lot of the small internet firms that is for sure.

Over Christmas break I plan on going up to Saugatuck to re-wire the mast and to add the new wind vane. The work includes new IP67 compliant connectors from the mast to support junction and new wire down the mast support and into the bilge terminal blocks. I am looking at Alden Pluse-Lok IP67 connectors.  With this done and if all else fails, I can do the rest of the work after she is in the water in late April. I have quite a bit of work to do wiring up the Seatalk and NMEA0183 busses to talk with the rest of the equipment.
