More Spring activites

Comments OffWe spent two days last week March 20 & 21 working on Inspiration. We seemed to be in a funk because we did not get much real things accomplished. However, I did sand smooth the rub rail and got two coats of Cetol applied. I need one more coat of Marine Light and then comes the glossy coat and this should be good for a few more years.I have been avoiding the bulwark refinishing but we may get some time to work on it this spring. However, I would rather do it outside since the vacuum lines are bulky and are unnecessary if sanding in the open air.
The hard job of lubrication the seacocks was accomplished this year with SAM doin the honors of hanging upside down to get at the cockpit drain seacocks. Last year I fell in upside down and got wedged in between the cross hull beam aft. There was a moment of panic as I tried unsuccessfully extract myself. I spent 4 weeks recovering from that little episode. SAM laughed as I fell but it was not real funny. I hyper-extended something.
We need to do the waterline paint – Jade Green from Pettit – and do the waxing for this year above the water line. I think that will pretty much do it for this season’s launching.
